Where does the tutoring session happen?
The session takes place on either Zoom or Google Meet. Math sessions take place on Zoom, but the video app where reading and grammar sessions take place, are discussed between the student and tutor through email before the session happens. How can I contact you?

What time zones are the sessions in?
As of now, all session times are in EST. However, please make sure to double check with the tutor/student. Can I donate?

How do I sign up for a session?
We have a customized request form for you to choose your most preferred way on how you would like to be taught! You can find this form on the "Book Online" page. |
How old do I have to be sign up for a tutoring session?
All students must be enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school. Parents must sign up for them or help in the process of booking a session. |

Am I allowed to sign up for a second session?
Yes, of course! If you would like the same tutor, simply email them once again requesting another session. However if you would like a different tutor, you can fill out another booking form requesting another tutor. |

Tutor Questions

Do I have to be a tutor for all subjects and grades?
No, there is absolutely no need for you to sign up as a tutor for every single subject and grade level we offer. We want you to feel comfortable with tutoring, thus allow you to choose which subjects and grade levels you teach. Our volunteer form gives you all of the options you can choose from. How long will Learn With Genie last until? Is it a summer-only service?
Learn With Genie is a year-long free online tutoring service for elementary, middle-school, and high-school students! . Any donations help us. Visit our GoFundMe here! How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Learn With Genie only accepts high-school students as tutors(14-18 years old.) Parental consent is also required for you to be a tutor. You can find the other tutor requirements on our Volunteer page. If my schedule changes after I have signed up to tutor, can I change my avaliable times?
Yes, of course! Learn With Genie is completely aware of the schedule changes one may experience with seasonal extra-curriculars and more. If you have the need to change your available times, please contact us through email at [email protected] |

When you sign up to tutor at Learn With Genie, an email with tutoring guidelines is sent to you. Included in the email are all the necessary resources you need on how to tutor. From there, the student and the tutor will discuss what topic the student would like to improve upon, and from there the tutor is able use the resources provided to come up with a simple session plan.
What if I have too many students?
If you have too many students, all you have to do is email [email protected] and we will update our site. |
